CREATING A PEACEFUL AND POSITIVE 2012
A GLOBALLY SYNCHRONISED EVENT FOR DECEMBER 21ST 2012
" What if, for one moment
all humanity could be united in a shared experience of peaceful gathering? "
On December 21st 2012, the Solstice synchronizes exactly with the end of a 5,125-year cycle in the Mayan calendar.
This creates a unique opportunity. On the very last day of this World Age we can also point to one single moment:
the exact point of Solstice
to synchronize our intentions.
The purpose of Peace2012 is to call for a global moment of prayer, meditation and intention at this time:

11.11 UT on December 21st
The Moment Of Peace
For the Moment of Peace we are calling for people to gather together and to practise and embody peace in whatever way they choose to create a global wave of united harmony. We are also calling for people to go to their local heritage sites, or sites that are sacred to them, and join us in invoking World Peace for the dawning World Age. To assist in the co-creation of the Moment of Peace, Peace2012 is working to support the rights of indigenous peoples worldwide to gather at their heritage sites at this moment and to facilitate global link-ups between these groups.

THE POWER OF SYNCHRONIZED INTENTION
NEW SCIENCE IS SHOWING HOW WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE

There are many predictions about what will happen on December 21st 2012 when a 5,125-year cycle in the Mayan calendar ends.
One thing is certain about this significant day:
what happens depends on what we do!
The goal of Peace 2012 is to create
a globally synchronized peace event
on December 21st 2012.
You can participate in Peace2012 in any way you choose; by organizing an event in your community, by joining one of the many events planned worldwide to celebrate this unique and important day, or just by tuning in from wherever you are.
During the Moment Of Peace our intentions, meditations and prayers for peace will be unified into a single field of coherence. Scientific research, commissioned by organizations like the Global Coherence Initiative has shown that being in a state of coherence makes a measurable and significant difference to our electromagnetic bodies and has a tangible effect on the reality around us. A person who is engaged and in a heart open state can have a magnetic field that is sixty times stronger than someone who is passive! The key is active participation, but focused intent and meditation even makes a difference for those not participating.
Another long-term study by the Global Consciousness Project at Princeton University has tracked the impact of events on the generation of apparently random numbers. What they have found is that a strong focus by the participants can create a very significant effect. The most powerful changes occurred when the collective attention is set on the most positive ideals like ‘love’, or ‘peace’.In the coming weeks, Peace 2012 will be bringing you more news about how you can participate be organizing an event in your local community. We will also be sharing with you practical actions you can take to create peace in your community from grass-roots peace organizations around the world. Our goal is to help create positive change today, in 2012, and beyond.

RECLAIMING CEREMONY AND SACRED SITES
A CALL FOR CONVERGENCE AT THE HERITAGE SITES OF THE WORLD
Since ancient times people from all over the globe have gathered at sacred sites to honor their ancestors and thank the Earth in sacred ceremony.
In this way, many indigenous people believe, stability and harmony are maintained on Earth. Sacred sites are places of power and importance because of their geographic relevance, or because places such as temples and sanctuaries have been built as places to hold ceremony and prayer. Many sacred sites are recognized today as cultural heritage sites by the UNESCO for their historical and cultural importance.
Ceremony and prayer are ways in which we as humans can collectively, or individually, commune with creation and with the Earth. They are also ways in which we can give offering and offer gratitude for life and all it’s gifts. For some ancient cultures, ceremony is an essential part of life and the Earth and all living things are considered sacred. However, many indigenous cultures have suffered the loss of their traditions and, in some cases, prohibition on performing their traditional ceremonies passed down to them for millennia.
In North America, the Sundance and other traditional ceremonies were outlawed by the US government and only until the past couple of decades have many of these ceremonies been recovered and come out of hiding. In Guatemala, indigenous Maya were forbidden to practice their traditions and to perform ceremony in their ancient temples until 1995 when the Government passed the “Agreement on the Identity & Rights of Indigenous Communities” which grants indigenous communities the freedom to exercise their distinct forms of spirituality. In Mexico, pyramids and ancient ceremonial sites are called ‘ruins’ and indigenous people are only allowed to perform ceremony at limited times and after obtaining a special permit. In Britain, the Druid religion is re-merging and has obtained legal status as a religion in 2010 and slowly recovering the use of their ceremonial sites such as Stonehenge, where they perform the annual Solstice ceremony.
December 21st is an opportunity for all these cultures to join together in
one unique moment in time.
At 11.11 UT. on December 21st 2012
We are making worldwide request for the religious
right of assembly at Heritage Sites worldwide.
An important goal of Peace2012 is to support this and provide assistance in accessing these World Heritage sites for peaceful assembly and worship at this time.
THE CEREMONY OF THE SIXTH SUN

The significance of December 21st is not only to the Maya people, but it is also important to many of the traditions across Meso-America, including the Mexica and Aztec traditons, who share the origins of the same calendar system.
This point in time can also been seen as a significant transition into the Sixth Sun of creation, unifying these different traditions into one unity. Across Mexico, Guatemala, and indeed, the whole world, people will be gathering to celebrate the dawn of the Solstice and (in the Northern hemisphere) pray for the 'return of the Sun'.
The Moment Of Peace, at the exact point of Solstice, can also be seen as the opening moment of the Ceremony of the Sixth Sun, which will build to the rising of the Sun across the world on the morning of December 21st.
To create more awareness of the significance of this ceremony, Peace 2012 is happy to announce our partnership with the Mexican media group, Planeta 2013. Peace 2012, Planeta 2013 and various associated groups dedicated to the preservation of ancestral knowledge, are calling for planetary convergence on sacred sites during eight significant dates during the year 2012 leading up to December 21st. This project is called “Serpiente Emplumada” or the “Feathered Serpent” in honor of the ancient Mesoamerican deity Quetzalcoatl, who was associated with the planet Venus and was lauded as the bringer of culture and civilization.
Serpiente Emplumadaare are calling for a worldwide pulsing of hearts in a planetary unified meditation in order to generate a critical mass and awaken a new Earth and a new humanity. With this intention, they are helping to organize different academic and cultural forums on archeoastronomy and ancient Mesoamerican calendar systems. The Maya never said that 2012 was the end of the world, it is simply the end of a cycle and the beginning of a new one, a re-birth. By gathering together and doing ceremony in this way, we have the opportunity to enter this new time consciously.
